Any tax that applies to your purchase is calculated and shown before you pay, and itemised on your receipt. The free tier needs no card, ever.

What you are actually paying for

Two things, and only one of them costs us anything.

The employers. We map real businesses near you, work out which of them employ people who do what you do, and find a way to reach each one: an email address, a phone number, a careers page, an address. Most of them have never advertised a job, which is the entire point. On every paid plan that list is unlimited, because handing you another company is a database read and charging for it would be charging you for nothing.

The letters. This is the part that costs real money and it is the only thing that scales with price. When you ask for a letter we go and read that company's own website, then write to them from what they say about themselves. Every letter is a different document, because every company is. Nothing is ever sent for you: you read it, change anything you like, and send it yourself.

The free tier is not crippled. Thirty employers and five letters is enough to write to five real businesses near you and find out whether any of them answer, which is the entire intended action.

Questions people actually ask

Does the free tier refill?

No, and we would rather say so here than let you find out by waiting. The free look is thirty employers and five letters once, for the life of the account, not every month. Everything you find on it stays yours whatever you do next.

Is there an annual plan?

No, and there is not going to be one. The product is a monthly allowance, so an annual subscription to it would be a shape mismatch with exactly one predictable question and no good answer. Monthly also keeps cancellation honest: the worst case for you is one month.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep everything your plan gives you until the end of the period you already paid for, and we tell you the date. You are not billed again. Nothing you have already found is taken away, and every letter already written stays yours to read and send.

What happens if my card fails?

Nothing, that day. Your issuer is retried over the following weeks and you keep your plan while that happens. Only when those attempts have finished without a payment does the account return to the free tier.

Do I need a card to start?

No. The free tier is free permanently and does not ask for one.
