Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect the answers you give during setup, because that is the only way Hoo can match anything to you. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not share your answers with anyone except the service that generates your results.

What we hold

• Your setup answers: first name, country, and your choices about hours, budget, skills, goals and what you have tried. This is the product working, not analytics.
• Your email address, if you give us one, so you can get back into your account.
• Your hunt history, so we do not show you the same opportunity twice.
• Basic technical data such as your IP address, used to apply rate limits and stop abuse. It is not used to profile you.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the free text boxes. They are capped at eighty characters and Hoo only needs a name and a place.

Who else sees it

Three companies process data on our behalf, and no others:

• OpenRouter (and whichever model provider it routes to) receives your setup answers, because that is how your results are produced. No email address, IP address or account identifier is sent with them.
• Resend receives your email address, in order to deliver sign-in links and account email.
• Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. handles payment if you subscribe. Stripe receives your email address, your billing country and address (which is needed to charge the correct VAT), and the amount. Your card number goes to Stripe and never to us. We never see it and never store it. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.

Why we are allowed to

We process your setup answers to perform the contract between us: without them the product cannot function. Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and preventing abuse.

How long

We keep your account for as long as you use it. Ask us to delete it and we will remove your account and your answers within 30 days.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to how we use it. Email hello@hoostle.dev and we will act within a month. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Sweden that is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Cookies

Hoostle sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We keep a single item in your browser's local storage to remember you are signed in. That is functional and needed for the service to work, so it does not require consent.
